Celebrity Hosts Anna Horsford & Monica Pearson Invite You to the 2014 Greens in the Day, Blues in the Night on May 17, 2014

The 2014 Blues in the Day, Greens in the Night Gala is supported by Delta Air Lines, Georgia Power, Georgia Pacific, Bank of America, Adidas, and Cadillac.

Kenny Leon, Artistic Director of True Colors Theatre Company, will host a group of celebrity guests from the entertainment, sports, and media worlds for a day of entertainment and golf to raise funds for the True Colors Theatre Company’s highlighted education program the August Wilson Monologue Competition. Come on out and party with Kenny and his friends.

Greens in the Day: Golf – Samuel L. Jackson and Kenny Leon are in hot competition for the “Kenny Cup”, currently held by Samuel and “Team West Coast”. The day starts with a continental breakfast at Bear’s Best Atlanta, followed by our 18- hole celebrity golf tournament and concludes with a buffet lunch and awards reception in the clubhouse.

More information about the August Wilson Monologue Competition:

The program offers students from low-income neighborhoods, where arts programs are minimal to non-existent due to budget constraints, the opportunity to study theatre.

The program builds the skills and confidence of the youth in the following participating cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles.

Students of all races have the opportunity to explore African –American culture and history.

Participants in the AWMC are offered FREE acting workshops to prepare for the competition and future mentoring opportunities.

The top three finalists at the Atlanta regionals win scholarship prizes and an all-expenses paid trip to NYC to attend a Broadway show and participate in celebrity-led acting workshops.

Enriches the lives of students and creates future theatre audiences and performers.
