RCS was in the house on November 13, 2K13 at EOS in midtown at the Roc nation showcase of upcoming stars Bridget Kelly, Elijah Blake and Melanie Fiona, a toronto native of Guyanese heritage.
Elijah opened the set, performing songs from his critically acclaimed “Bijoux 22″ EP, including “X.O.X.”, “Birdz”, and “Talk to Me”. Bridget Kelly, a New Yorker has a great voice and performed songs from her latest singles “Special Delivery, “Street Dreamin”, as well as songs from her “Every Girl” EP.
Melanie Fiona a grammy nominee has produced two albums and on a cold November night EOS on west 58th street, Manhattan was packed to capacity to hear her. She sang hits from her first two albums and the audience of mainly young people appreciated her soulful renditions of her R n B hits. Melanie said she has recently moved to New York and loves it here. The crowd certainly loves her. My personal favourite which she did not sing is ‘You Stop My Heart. It was well worth the hours’s wait to get into the venue to see and hear her.
