Superstar actress and songstress Miley Cyrus took time out of her hectic schedule to return to Haiti for a second time. The singer joined forces with the Starkey Foundation to give hearing aids to over 400 Haitians. During her trip Miley also visited with President Michel Martelly and a host of beautiful Haitian children (see video).
Although I think its nice that Miley took time out of her life to visit Haiti and do some charitable work, I don’t think it was appropriate to sing “Party in the USA” to these kids. Many of these children are most certainly still shelterless, hungry and in need of some of life’s basic necessities as a result of last year’s tragic earthquake. Gee thanks Miley for reminding these kids that while they’re still recovering we’re over here partying in the USA .
Miley told Hollywood Gossip that she helped the foundation hand out hundreds of hearing aids to those still devastated by last years earthquake. She added, This second mission to Haiti was just as impactful to me as the first one I grew up around music and couldnt imagine what it would be like for my siblings and me, if we couldnt hear the magic of music. Its had such an influence on my life, that I just want everyone to enjoy sound as it was intended.
