In two lengthy Instagram posts, the wife of Caribbean comedic sensation Majah Hype alleges that she has been battered and abused by the comedian during their relationship and I BELIEVE HER.

In her #WomenWednesday IG LIVE, Majah’s ex shared details of her abuse at the hands of the popular Caribbean comedian. Her emotional video is clearly something she felt compelled to do and the allegations are shocking to say the least.

Latisha, a Brooklyn resident, states she had to isolate from her loved ones to hide the abuse and offered an apology for this.

“I wanna apologize to my mother, my son, my sister, to my niece, to my friends. I detached myself from the people that loved me the most for a long time. I owe you guys the biggest apology. What I’ve been going through, the average person doesn’t go through that in a whole lifetime. I’ve been keeping it a secret for a long time. Hiding abuse is a full-time job. You have to detach yourself from your loved ones, so they don’t know. I did that for a long time.”

I don’t believe any woman goes on a public platform to allege such horrific abuse from such a notable public figure without there being some truth so I BELIEVE HER.

After she posted the first video (above), Latisha states that Majah Hype, in retaliation, released a revenge porn video. Thereafter she posted another lengthy video (see below) in which she gives a lot more insight into her alleged abuse at the hands of the Caribbean comedian.

Domestic abuse is all too common, all too quiet and all too often swept under the rug in the Caribbean community. I wish Latisha well in her healing process and hope that Majah Hype is held accountable for his alleged abuse. We will not remain silent about abuse in the Caribbean community!!
