Custo Barcelona is a design house that has a strong fashion presence in the US especially among Hollywood celebrities. The front drew celebs such as Adrienne Bailon, host of” The Real”, Miss USA, Nia Sanchez and Mr. Jay, judge of “America’s Next Top Model”. His designs have also been even featured in many movies. The showing of his collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week entitled “Shake Before Use” –Fall/Winter 15 was absolutely phenomenal. The collection is described as a combination of multi-layered dresses and coat and mini-skirts, composed of silks, lame’ pieces and wools.
There were traditional plaids that featured large geometrical patterns and ethnic prints. A few of the silhouettes consisted of details like exaggerated and flute shaped shoulders, wide origami-inspired sleeves and different textures of fur. The line also featured a few menswear items such as sport coats, suits and sweaters that were mixed media patterns. The colors focused mainly around browns and grays with infusions of bright colors such as pink and blue for a daring and different combination.
Custo Dalmau, born in the Catalan Pyrenees of Spain, established Custo Line in 1980 and with the help of his brother formed the brand, Custo Barcelona in 1996. The designer has a signature style of mixing hard and soft looks together to create the perfect harmony of clothing.
