Bravo has officially cleaned house and fired several of the ‘Real Housewives of New York’. Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop will not be returning for the next season. “Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn DeLesseps will be returning for season five of ‘The Real Housewives of New York.’
Weve had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have on-going discussions with them,” a Bravo spokesperson said in a statement.
Reportedly, the ladies were unaware that they were not being picked up until this weekend when they received phone calls from Bravo executives. Jill and Alex are originial cast members and so its clear Bravo wants to go in a different direction – MORE DRAMA! Kelly Bensimon took her pills this past season and wasn’t as interesting hence she is now without a part on RHONY.
Cindy Barshop makes history as being the only NYC housewive that I can recall having served for only one season. I’m guessing Bravo didn’t like her anymjore than Sonja Morgan did!! Well, at least Sonja won’t have to worry about anymore breakfast time conference calls! Cindy was boring and so unnecessary anyway.
Not sure why didn’t Bravo didn’t get rid of the “Countess” LuAnn especially now that her cohorts Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon are now gone….So here’s my question, we know that Alex McCord is gone but will Simon be back??? Ahhh, I will certainly miss his colorful, interesting fashion choices — rainbow-colored sequined jackets, Matrix-like clothing, and anything red!!!!
Reportedly, Bravo wants “new blood” — younger, more glamourous and, of course, more wealthy women will be pursued for the next season of ‘Real Housewives of New York’.. Apparently, Bravo wants more of a “Sex and the City” feel and less of a “Mob Wives” look!!! Alas, all is fair in love, war and reality T.V!!!
P.S. Let’s hope Bravo fires a few Housewives out of Atlanta!!!!
