Soca artist and new mommy Patrice Roberts dropped the official music video for her latest single, ‘Big Girl Now’, with her little girl making her first public appearance.
The video, which was released on New Years Day, follows Patrice from childhood, coming into her own as a woman and pursuing her dreams to be a singer. The video takes on a sentimental note as we see several shots of Patrice as a little girl on stage competing as Junior Calypso and Junior Soca Monarch.
Soca artist (and new mum herself) Jojo and LaShaun Prescott (Elle, SOKAFIT) make guest appearances in the video, but it was Patrice’s infant daughter who really stole the show. Patrice, who gave birth earlier this year, has mostly kept her daughter out of the spotlight, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her adorable bundle of joy, giving the video a sense of Patrice really coming full circle.
