The Miami 2014 Caribbean American Movers and Shakers took place on October 10, 2014 at the  beautiful Frost Museum in Miami, Florida.  The event was the first Caribbean American Movers and Shakers to be held outside of Atlanta.

The annual recognition identifies professionals and civic minded individuals of Caribbean heritage, living in the Tri-County area, who have contributed to the multicultural community. This year’s honorees were:  Miami Airport Project Manager and Architect Mr. Tyrone Browne, Senior Vice President of Research for Telemundo Network Millie Carrasquillo, President of the Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce Eric Knowles,  Official DJ of the Miami Heat Ian Grocher (DJ Irie), Superintendent of Broward Public Schools Robert Runcie, Senior Vice President of Seaboard Marine Jose Perez-Jones, Circle House Studios: Abebe Lewis, Journalist and WEDR (99Jamz) Personality Peter Bailey. Young Generation Pioneer of the Year: Jo Mersa Marley; Musician and grandson of the late Bob Marley; Humanitarian of the Year: Angel Aloma  Executive Director of Food for the Poor, and our Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees Ms. Gloria Estefan and Mr. Emilio Estefan, Musicians, Entrepreneurs, Hispanic and International legends.
Michael Thomas, President of the Caribbean Media Network invited Caribbean tastemakers in the Miami area to the event for a unique networking experience:
