This season designer Lanyu gave us textures such as velvet, wool and mohair mixed with feminine touches of silk and lace. A French boudoir came to mind when these pastel palettes glided down the runway. Subtle yet sexy body suits, loose flowing pajama like sets that can go from day to night and dresses in emerald green and earth tones all tied together with eye catching outerwear to complete the looks.
Sitting front row gave me an up close and personal view of how well crafted each design was constructed and all of the fine details. Ruffles are still trending for the next fall season as it was shown throughout the collection from the ruffle tiered dresses and my favorite in the group, the ruffle edge pants that was something unexpected and a great way to update a basic item. Versatility, class and style are what were encompassed in this couture collection.
Lanyu has received many accolades over the years since the beginning of her career as a fashion designer which began in 2005. She continues elevate her brand each season with timeless wearable pieces.
