Cycle 19 the “College Edition” of Tyra Banks’ long-running show America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) decided to add some Caribbean flavor and chose Jamaica as this year’s international destination.
Kudos to Tyra Banks and the ANTM team for choosing a Caribbean destination and using many local talents!
Konshens, Cedella Marley and Yendi Phillips all joined in as celebrity guest judges. Konshes practically held a Weddy Weddy dance-off with the remaining six models vying for this year’s title of America’s Next Top Model. It was one of television’s finest moment’s to see the girls (some of them totally devoid of any rhythm!) dressed in dancehall attire gyrating to ‘Do Sumn’ while Konshens gave his judging feedback. Cedella Marley also made a guest appearance. Cedella had the models sporting her bathing suit line called “High Tide”. The girls also wore the suits while swimming with dolphins.
Miss Universe Yendi Phillips helped the models shoot a video to be used by the Jamaica Tourism Board. Finalist Kiara won the challenge. By the way, Yendi was probably pregnant when this was shot…doesn’t she look great?
