Jamaican Artists Mavado and Jah Cure Set for World Creole Music Festival

Jamaican Dancehall artist Mavado, will be the final major act in the line up for the 18th edition of the World Creole Music Festival in Dominica.

“We are pleased to announce that our Jamaican Dancehall artist is officially part of the lineup,: said Marketing Assistant at the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC), Marva Williams, at a press conference on Tuesday.

“He has more than 45 hit songs …and this gentleman, he’s been described as having the ability to voice his experiences and capture the imagination of Jamaican youth every step of the way. He cut the ears and eyes of a new and broader fan base and he knows exactly how to make his emotions appeal universal.”

She said all artistes were chosen because of their appeal to different crowds. Mavado will perform on the final day –Sunday 26, October 2014. He will join Jamaican Reggae  artist Jah Cure, another major act in the line up for the festival which will run from October 24-26th at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Other acts to perform include Zouk masters from Guadeloupe and Martinique, Merengue singer Elvis Crespo of Puerto Rico and out of Trinidad  – Destra.
