Awards season is off and running. Last night, the 2011 Emmy Awards hosted by Jane Lynch was held. ABC’s Modern Family was the big winner of the night. Click here for a COMPLETE LIST OF WINNERS. Check out E’s coverage on the red carpet and click thru for red carpet pictures!!
One of my favorite looks of the night was Gwyneth Paltrow in a black-sequin dress by Emilio Pucci. The dress was quite see-through. In fact, Paltrow admitted that she was not aware of just how see through it was until she hit the red carpet. We will see what Joan Rivers and the Fashion Police have to say about this. I loved it! Also, for some haute couture Julianna Margulies in a strapless Giorgio Armani Prive gown. It was quite a fashion statement and could have gone either way.
The red carpet also had a lot of red dresses including Lea Michele, Kate Winslet, and Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang.
My fashion Oh No for the night was Jayma Mays – hated it!!! It was a three tiered, wait no a FOUR tiered ruffle bottom with lace on top. Who wants FOUR tiers of tulle ruffles??? Another, not so favorite was Padma Lakshmi. although she is a beautiful woman Padma Lakshmi’s dress color was too close to her skin color and she looked too monotone and one note. If Padma’s dress was red or blue, what a difference it would have made!!!
Overall, the celebs looked good however I did feel that the looks this year were very understyled — very minimal, very little jewelry or accessorizing……
