The City of McDonough welcomes one of its largest attractions of the year, the 8th Annual McDonough Caribbean Cultural Festival 2018 on June 16th 1:00-8:00p.m. at Alexander Park, 300 Atlanta Street in McDonough, GA. This year’s event features vendors from across the Caribbean diaspora and includes; food, jewelry, clothes, music, stilt dancers and live entertainment that the whole family will love. Guests will enjoy a special performance by Grenadian Pop Reggae Artist, A#keem. A#keem will perform his hit single, “Still Around.” There’s also a fun and safe kids zone that has inflatables, hula hoops, games and prizes that will allow kids to have a ball. Free health screenings will also be available for seniors and adults. Admission is free.

The action-packed event is hosted by the Caribbean Association of Georgia, Inc. (CAG). The organization is the largest Caribbean-American humanitarian organization in the State of Georgia. The family-friendly festival celebrates the many contributions of Caribbean-Americans in metro-Atlanta and beyond. The festival welcomes 6,000 guests each year. “Each year we get bigger and better and our guests get to sample such an incredible array of the Caribbean culture,” says Chris Scott, President of the Caribbean Association of Georgia, Inc. “We have food from Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Trinidad to name a few. We want this to be a time when families can come together and sample the finest of the Caribbean. We work hard to make sure that it’s a really fun day.”

This year, the festival will honor special guests from the Caribbean-American community who have made a tremendous impact on the media. Last year, the organization honored Simone Edwards, WNBA Champion and the first Jamaican player in the all-female basketball league with the CAG Trailblazer Award in addition to other Caribbean leaders.

The McDonough Caribbean Cultural Festival hosted by CAG has been serving the community since 2010. The goal is to help educate and share a diverse and rich range of cultural expressions with the public. We want to enhance the quality of life for our guests while supporting local businesses and the economy.
