13th Annual South Jersey Caribbean Festival Returns to Wiggins Park on July 13, 2013

The South Jersey Caribbean Cultural and Development Organization (SJCCDO), a 501c3 non-profit based in Camden, NJ presents the 13th Annual South Jersey Caribbean Festival at Wiggins Park on the Camden, NJ Waterfront on Saturday July 13, 2013 from 12pm to 8pm.

The 12th Annual South Jersey Caribbean Festival is a FREE family cultural event that showcases Caribbean art, music, food, and dance. The South Jersey Caribbean Festival features Steel Pan, Reggae, Latin and Soca Music. The diversity of the Caribbean will be represented by performers from countries including Jamaica, Dominica, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. The traditional Latin dance performances by the Muervete Dance group of Philadelphia, PA will excite, energize and entertain the crowd.

This years event will feature St. Vincent & Grendadines legendary Soca artist BECKET performing hits such as Teaser, Small Pin, Gal Ah Rush Me, and Carnival History. You will experience Caribbean culture at its best. The Festival will include a Steel Pan Band, Limbo dancers, Fire Eating, Stilt Walkers, Latin Dancer and much more. The 2013 Honorees will be Ewart Rouse, a Trinidadian Author and Community Activist for the sport of Cricket in South Jersey and Robert and Wanda Dickerson of the Universal Drum and Dance Ensemble.

South Jersey Caribbean Festival is known for putting on quite an exciting show for FREE!! The organizations president Kylla Herbert always wants the community to enjoy the event. Do you remember the year ‘Soca Queen’ Alison Hinds’ performed…it was CRAZY!!! Check out the video:
