Grammy award-winning reggae artist Ziggy Marley fresh off his historical Grammy tribute to his father, Bob Marley, recently hit the road for his ‘Wild & Free Tour’. As part of this tour, Ziggy Marley and his Band had a one-night stand at the House of Blues Orlando.
Although Ziggy Marley is the son of reggae icon, Bob Marley, he is a reggae superstar in his own right. Ziggy begain his musical career in the late 1970s when he and his siblings formed the group ‘The Melody Makers’. After the group dissolved, Ziggy began making his own melodies and hasn’t looked back since!
Ziggy’s most recent musical endeavor, ‘Wild & Free’ “explores themes of social injustice and political weaponry, delivering a powerful message intertwined with soothing soulful sounds.” Ziggy’s message was well-received by myself and the crowd at Orlando’s House of Blues (knockdown, dragout fight between two bruthas notwithstanding! (Seriously, who fights while Bob Marley’s son is performing songs of liberation and freedom!!???)
