Congratulations and kudos to Anya Ayoung-Chee as the winner of Season 9 of Project Runway (much to Josh’s chagrine)!!! Anya said in a previous interview that there was so much pressure on her because the entire country of Trinidad was rooting for her to win. Little did Anya know it wasn’t just Trinidad, the entire Caribbean was rooting her on! Oh, and by the way Anya also won Fan Favorite with a prize of $10,000!!! Ka-ching!
Anya won because she stayed true to her Caribbean inspired designs and she used black models too!!! Now, there was much ado about her lack of constructiona and sewing skills. Anya would be the first to admit she is weak in those areas but her eye for beauty is aestichally pleasing and undeniable.
Anya repped for the Caribbean to the very end – love dat!!!
