The taping of Soul Train Awards 2011 took place last week in Atlanta, Georgia. All in all the show was a great production and took about half the time to tape as it did last year!! Hollayulyer! Best moments of the night included a tribute to Gladys Knight with the legendary, “unforgettable” Natalie Cole and OverTheTop.com Tamar Braxton! Gladys’ acceptance speech was phenomenal which was followed by an inspirational duet with Bebe Winans!
A tribute to Heavy D was led by Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, Naughty by Nature and Kurtis Blow. CeeLo was also part of the Heavy D tribute. Cee Lo’s an awesome performer but he was a little out of place in this tribute!
Eric Benet et. al. did an awesome job during the tribute to Earth, Wind and Fire. Eric was just showing off!!! He can blow!
Only a four awards were handed out during the taping (see below). As soon as I know who won Best Caribbean Performance, I will let you know!!
