Senior U.S. Trade And Investment Officials To Speak At Invest Caribbean 2012

Join ICS and some of the top officials for U.S. policy in the Caribbean at the 2012 Invest Caribbean Business Leaders Dialogue on Friday, Nov. 16 at the Washington Capitol Hilton.

This one-day conference is geared at entrepreneurs, small business owners, policymakers, NGOs and scholars working on Diaspora and Caribbean-related issues.  This year’s theme is “Food, Fuel(bio), F(ph)arma” and examines potential ways to become an importer, exporter, or investor in the Caribbean’s diverse agribusiness market.

Confirmed speakers include:

Ambassador Liliana Ayalde, US State Department;

Jeffrey Read, Food & Drug Administration;

Paloma Adams-Allen, U.S. Agency for International Development;

Alison Gatchev of Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

Presentations will focus on  niche market foods, bio-fuel (renewable energy) and bio-technology, as well as a look at small businesses, and an update on access to financing these sectors in the Caribbean.  Participants will learn about emerging trade and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector throughout the Caribbean and challenges to sustainable and profitable partnerships.
