Shaggy describes how the Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation was started out of a desire to help Bustamante Hospital after a visit in 1989 and realizing the hospital was in need of equipment, supplies and other necessities. So he started helping by putting his money where his mouth is. Shaggy started signing checks and buying equipment Years later during another visit, Shaggy saw a little girl with a bullet lodged in her head and felt helpless. He decided to do a concert but was told that in order to do a benefit concert he had to have a foundation so the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation was born along with the Shaggy & Friends concert.
