Project Runway’s season 5 winner Leanne Marshall, showcased her many talents during her New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018 show. Leanne, known for her bridal dresses, featured an array of pieces from crepe pants to gowns. The collection also featured a variation of detailed bodices and skirts.
But in true Leanne fashion, the collection accentuated an assortment of gowns with flowing silk chiffon, plunging necklines, and silk organza. There was a consistency of trains flowing from her gowns and skirts that made you just as excited for the back details as you were for the front of the garment! The collection is super feminine but adds an edge with scalloped details and oversized pieces such as her organic cotton jackets. Leanne’s mixture of bold and soft colors added an extra highlight to her beautiful silhouettes blending cyan, dusty rose, citron, and bronze.
Adding more range to the collection, Leanne also featured plus sized models. Diversity and inclusion are becoming more and more important to the fashion industry, and Leanne’s always been about sustainability. The collection caters to women of all sizes, something that’s becoming more and more popular on the runway. Year after year, Leanne continues to reinvent herself all while sticking to her signature gowns. Her Fall/Winter 2018 collection was soft, yet dramatic, playful and sophisticated. I’m sure you’ll see one of these stunning pieces on the red carpet this season!
