I have been introduced to yet another extension of New York Fashion Week, NOLCHA. NOLCHA Fashion Week is a platform for independent designers to showcase their designs to a global audience of influencers for the past six years. This year I attended my first NOLCHA New York Fashion Week event for the Katty Xiomara Fall/Winter 2015 collection.

The Portuguese born designer is a veteran in the fashion industry. She has been designing since 1998 and established her fashion house in 2000. Xiomara is wildly creative having dabbled in theater, television, graphic art and dance just to name a few of her other talents. All of her talents show in her collection. She has created a line that was romantic and feminine with a hint of edge. There was a lot of pattern and print play within the designs which brought simple silhouettes to life. She created looks from shorts, dresses, jumpsuits to outerwear, there was something for everyone. The footwear was also exceptional in this collection.

I was in awe of the multi-colored boots and how they could be worn with her dressy pieces as well as the casual items in the line. As far color she showed favoritism to the color green which is one of my favorite colors! It tied in well with the more earthy tones in the assortment. I thought that her designs were fresh, clean and cohesive! Her show attracted singer/actress Christina Milian who was also sporting a Katty Xiomara original. Here are a few selections of her fall/winter line.
