Last week’s G-CAPP Premiere of Peace, Love & Misunderstanding at the Woodruff Arts Center was a success as Jane Fonda and the cast walked the red carpet, mingled with fans, and helped raise funds for the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP). The live and silent auctions alone brought in more than $125,000 as nearly 40 exclusive items and prize packages were bid on, all donated to support G-CAPPs mission to decrease teen pregnancy in Georgia.

One of the highlights of the evening was the fierce bidding for several exclusive live auction packages including a seven-night stay at Costa Rica Beachside Estate, and a Party Like A Rock Star at the Grammys package which raised $18,000 each; a five-day stay at Jane Fondas Forked Lightning Ranch in Sante Fe, New Mexico for $14,000; and a five-day stay at Ted Turners Flying D Montana Ranch for four bringing in $14,500.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out in support of G-CAPP. I am so moved, said Fonda on the red carpet. This is all in good fun but the cause that rallies us could not be more serious. Im so pleased that we are able to bring more awareness to the reasons why we should all care about young people becoming mothers and fathers too soon.

Special guests of the evening included Peace, Love & Misunderstanding Producer Claude Dal Farra, as well as cast members Rosanna Arquette (Darcy), Nat Wolff (Jake), Marissa ODonnell (Tara), and actress Polly Draper.

About Peace, Love & Misunderstanding:
Directed by two-time Academy Award nominated Bruce Beresford, Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding stars Academy Award-winning Jane Fonda (who plays an eccentric, estranged, hippie grandmother) two-time Academy Award-nominated Catherine Keener, international heartthrob Chace Crawford, and Sundances breakout star Elizabeth Olsen. Beresford delivers a heartfelt comedy about an uptight New York City lawyer (Keener) who, after splitting with her husband, takes her two spirited teenagers to her hippie mothers house in the countryside for a family vacation. What was meant to be a weekend getaway quickly turns into a summer adventure of romance, family secrets, and self-discovery. Peace, Love & Misunderstanding is a story about the things that unite and divide families.

About G-CAPP:
The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention was founded by Jane Fonda in 1995 when Georgia had the highest teen birth rate in the nation. G-CAPP, a statewide organization, is the only nonprofit in the state solely dedicated to ending teen pregnancy. Since its founding, Georgia has seen a 30% decrease in teen pregnancy. While there has been tremendous progress, Georgia still has the 13th highest teen birth rate in the country. G-CAPP replicates proven programs that work, partners with youth serving organizations to develop more effective teen pregnancy prevention strategies, provides customized prevention trainings, and advocates for policies and programs that help give teens the knowledge, skills and motivation they need to make good, healthy choices.
