Pastry Princess Angela Simmons, co-founder of Pastry, a lifestyle shoe brand (which she owns with her sister Vanessa Simmons) will be launching the e-commerce portion of her website www.AngelaIAM.com. The big launch will be taking place at Henri Bendels in NYC. Angela also did a photo shoot for the launch with her partner Henri Bendel, the celebrated department store on 5th Avenue in NYC.
I was quite surprised she did her video and photo shoot with her big ‘island braids’ for a brand that has been known to be traditional and cautiously conservative in the past. In recent years Henri Bendel has been targeting a younger fashionable customer so this is where Angela Simmons fits in. The Angela Simmons brand is funky urban couture with a mix of hip hop (remember her dad is the legendary rapper Run from Run DMC). This is exciting to say the least especially with Angela recently becoming the new host of 106 and Park. The launch is physically at Henri Bendels so it will be interesting to see all of the fans of 106 and Park attending this event while the mature 5th Avenue ladies will be clutching their pearls and poodles. Any hoo at this event you can mix, mingle and shop til you drop and get 20% off. There will be live performances by Atlantic Records artist Lauriana Mae and Hannah Bronfman will serving up the tunes.
Angela is a big lover of the Caribbean. She was quoted discussing the Caribbean by saying “it was like a dream! I feel so blessed! It was so beautiful and gave me some time to relax and rejuvenate. Things have been pretty busy lately, but after spending a few days at the beach, I feel brand new.”
