On Monday October 23rd, 2017 at the Mandarin Oriental in NYC, the annual American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) Hummingbird Gala was held.
The gala celebrated the achievements of honorees, Mr. Joseph M. Matalon, Mr. Vincent HoSang and Mr. Cecil Sam Wright with the Hummingbird Award for International Philanthropy. Entertainment was provided by Busy Signal.
AFJ envisions a world in which all Jamaicans have access to basic education, healthcare services and economic development opportunities for a better quality of life.
