Congratulations, biggups and kudos to this year’s nominees for Best Reggae Album: Ziggy Marley, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Sly & Robbie & Spicy Chocolate and SOJA. All of the nominees are well deserving. With that being said, I would still like to see more diversity in this category.

Each year, we are seeing a lot of the same names (NO SHADE!) but there are soooo many up and coming artists and great albums being bypassed. This year, the one that stands out the most for me is Chronixx ‘Dread and Terrible’.
Over the years, I have heard many of you echo these sentiments. As a reminder to those of you in the record industry, you can vote! Here’s the criteria:
Who qualifies as a Voting Member?
Recording Academy Voting Members are professionals with creative or technical credits on at least six commercially released tracks (or their equivalent). These may include vocalists, conductors, songwriters, composers, engineers, producers, instrumentalists, arrangers, art directors, album notes writers, narrators, and music video artists and technicians. via GRAMMYS.org
