Controversial right-wing talk show host, Bill O’Reilly, recently visited St. Kitts/Nevis, the birthplace of the US’ first Secretary Of The Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, and concluded the island’s culture is “interesting.”
O’Reilly visited my ancestral home over the Easter holidays. He came back and showed glimpses of the St. Kitts/Nevis Federation to his viewers during his ‘Tip of the Day’ including of Frigate Bay and Port Zante stating:
“The culture of the islands is a very interesting combination of British, French and African. We had a great time, the water [Caribbean Sea] is beautiful, the beach at the Marriott is stunning and folks on the island are friendly.”
Mr. O’Reilly also reminded viewers that Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, was born in Nevis.
During his stay over the extended Easter weekend, the popular television host, author and syndicated columnist toured the island on the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, enjoyed a catamaran cruise around the South East Peninsular and engaged in other fun-filled activities.
An ardent critic of immigration reform in the past, O’Reilly recently softened his stance enough to admit that the Marco Rubio plan, which calls for a securing of the borders and a path to legalization for millions of undocumented migrants in the United States, including many from the Caribbean, is a “fair enough” one. WHATEVA!!
