The 2013 Awards Season is officially underway with last night’s Golden Globe Awards setting the tone for the season. The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The women looked fantabulous on the red carpet last night. There were a few misses but for the most part it was a great night for fashion!
Best Dressed
My choices for Best Dressed are Anne Hathaway in a white Chanel gown AND Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli. Honorable mention to Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen (she’s back to her regal red carpet status!) and Real Housewife of Atlanta Nene Leakes wearing Caroline Herrera (she looked like she was about to host an upscale soiree at a country club!).
My choice for Golden Globes vixen is Kathryn McPhee. McPhee’s plunging neckline was perfection! I loved her shoes too (toe overhang notwithstanding!! She was simply oozing sexiness. Second-runner up goes to the muy caliente Jennifer Lopez! Lopez wore a Zuhair Murad design….this is the definition of 40 AND fabulous!
Missed The Mark
My least favorite look for the night was by far Sienna Miller. I think she was going for that 60s/70s mod effect but the dress is just not working for me. A close runner-up for least favorite is Alyssa Milano. I didn’t like the color, the fit, or the styling (especially the earrings!) — overall just not a good look.
Best Couple
This award goes to Megan Fox and Austin Green — ooh la la! George Clooney and his long-time gal pal Stacey Kiebler are runner-ups! MAHVALOUS!
Red Carpet Insight
Overall, the fashions were great!! There were a few actresses who were just shy of being awesome on the red carpet. Kate Hudson’s look was great but her hair styling was off. There was a lot of neckline beading so her hair needed to be away from the shoulders (upswept or pulled back – a loose chignon would have been perfect). I love, love, love Kerry Washington and she looked beautiful as usual but I wanted to see more from her. The Miu Miu dress she wore was far too understated and made for a woman with more boobage. Shout out to Glenn Close for repping hard for the “mature” Hollywood starlets. She looked great.
My favorite red carpet moment was Hugh Jackman on the carpet with his wife. I’ve never seen Jackman’s wife and was surprised to see that this Hollywood hunk is not married to some skinny, Hollywood botoxed bimbo, she’s just a regular looking WOMAN. Now, I love Hugh Jackman even more!
Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. Cannot wait for the Oscars!
