CBS and Rihanna are splitting up after more fallout from the Ray Rice incident. The network said yesterday it was permanently editing a song featuring Rihanna’s voice out of its Thursday night NFL telecasts — after the singer issued a tweet about it. In my opinion, however, the real issue is why was a portion of Jay-Z’s Run This Town featuring Rihanna cut from last Thursday’s game in the first place?
I neither follow nor understand the logic put forth by CBS. The claim is it was pulled from Thursday’s game because CBS was covering the controversy over Rice’s assault of his then-fiancée. So what!!!!!
CBS planned to use the song tomorrow and for the rest of the season, until an angry Rihanna tweeted about it (and you know Riri doesn’t mince words!):
I’ve been covering Rihanna for a while and I always tell you “don’t mess with bad gyal Riri!” And, if you do, please know that she is going to come for you whether you called for her or not!
The audacity…

CBS issued a statement saying that it was “moving in a different direction” with different theme music. I need someone to explain to me why TF and how TF Rihanna should suffer for any of this ish concerning Ray Rice and the NFL? In fact, it seems counter intuitive that a huge megastar VICTIM of domestic violence would once again be the victim of same but this times at the hands of Ray Rice and the NFL.
I support our Bajan beauty on this one. CBS shame on you for making Rihanna the scapegoat here!
