The US Virgin Islands Department of Tourism is offering travelers pictures of paradise with the debut of a homegrown series of video vignettes featuring the authentic beauty and experiences of the Territory.

As you may know, I’m originally from the USVI and I have a small treasure trove of photos from the Virgin Islands so I’m glad to share the beauty and tranquility of my island(s) with you!

The eight-part series launches Tuesday, October 29 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time, across the Department of Tourism’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

The segments, ranging from accommodations to activities and attractions, will be launched each morning for an entire week and will be narrated by a Virgin Islander “ambassador” with expertise in the featured theme.

“These videos represent a powerful tool to promote the US Virgin Islands experience,” said Chantal Figueroa, Deputy Commissioner of Tourism.

“We want to attract new visitors to our Territory, and offer our valued guests memories of our beautiful scenery and the creative dynamism of our people,” she added.

The segments feature accommodations, culture, special events, romance, shopping, activities and attractions, the dive experience, and sports in the US Virgin Islands.

“We are really keen to unveil this particular series as it features both the authenticity of our islands and the expertise of our local filmmakers,” said Beverly Nicholson-Doty, Commissioner of Tourism. (www.facebook.com/BeverlyNicholsonDoty)

The Commissioner explained that Telltale-Pictures, a local production company, produced the series after their successful completion of the government’s procurement process.
