Given the immense amount of talent coming out of the Caribbean, its no surprise that Grammy-Award winning R&B artist Ne-Yo launched his new label ‘Compound Island’ in Jamaica. Ne-Yo joins a long list of other A-list celebrity musicians visiting Jamaica for more than just vacation including Akon, Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse (just prior to her untimely death).
Joining Ne-Yo for the ‘Compound Island’ launch festivities were Shaggy, Adrienne Bailon, Keri Hilson, Tango (Compound Ent.) and actor Rockmond Dunbar.
During the three-day launch festivities guests were also treated to a private screening of Ne-Yo’s latest movie project “Red Tails”, a private pool party at Secrets Resort and also watched Ne-Yo’s performance at the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival!
This new label launch is part of Ne-Yo’s recent move to Motown/Universal, where he will be Senior VP of A&R. So you reggae, soca and other Caribbean artists better get at Ne-Yo!!!! He is also collaborating with Malibu Rum so you might pop up in a commercial!!! Holla at me Ne-Yo!!!
