The Miami Broward Junior Carnival will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Central Broward Regional Park & Cricket Stadium (3700 NW 11th Pl, Lauderhill, FL 33311).
The parade will begin at 2pm. Admission is $10 and parking is FREE. Tickets can be purchased online at www.miamibrowardcarnival.com, or at the park on the day of the event.
Young masqueraders will be judged based on their creativity, presentation, originality and craftsmanship of their vibrant and colorful masquerade costumes. This event teaches younger Caribbean-Americans about their Caribbean heritage and allows them an opportunity to shine at an event that is a part of their rich cultural history.
The Miami Broward Jr. Carnival is a favorite since it’s a family inspired event that truly shares in showcasing the diversity of South Florida, and celebrates what makes us different.
WHO: 10 Jr. Masquerade Bands competing for Band of the Year 2014 – Break Awae, China, Community Vibe, Fun Generation Too, Carnival Arts,Euphuria Mas, Heritage TNT, Major Players, Mas Dynasty, Riverland Mas, Royalty Kids, and Wassi Babes. Heritage TNT Jr. Band was named Band of the Year in 2013 and looks to defend the coveted title.
