The young New York singer knocks the coaches out with his spirited “Listen.”
A Guyanese American has made it on to reality musical competition, The Voice. Queens, New Yorker Trevin Hunte not only made it to the blind audition stage on the musical competition, but blew the judges and the audience away with his rendition of Beyoncé’s “Listen.”
Hunte’s parents came to New York from Guyana and his father has worked as a garbage truck driver as far back as he can remember.
Judges Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton turned their chairs around wanting Hunte on their team and while Aguilera and Shelton gave him a standing ovation. But it was Green who landed the soulful singer and predicted during the broadcast that he could win the whole competition.
