Atlanta-raised, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands born teenage sensation Elijah Vegas appeared on Lifetime TV’s popular series “Army Wives”. 13-year old Elijah has been studying his craft since he was in fifth grade. His parents were very supportive and made sure he got acting lessons, coaching, etc. Looks like it paid off for Elijah!
Recently, Elijah was extended an invitation by the Virgin Islands Lieutenant Governors wife, Cheryl Francis, to participate with the Stop the Bleeding Project, a collaborative music venture that seeks to motivate the young people of the United States Virgin Islands, the Caribbean, and hopefully globally to choose a life on non-violence and embrace each others individuality. Elijah has flown to St. Croix and St. Thomas, several times throughout 2011, participating in a feed the hungry campaign. Elijah has worked with many Virgin Islands recording artists including, Pressure Buss Pipe (a popular Reggae artist from St. Thomas) and Verse Simmons (a popular R&B artist, also from St. Thomas) on this project, speaking at junior and high schools on both islands. In September 2011 while visiting St. Thomas, Elijah was involved in a car accident on the way to perform at a local junior high school. He refused to go to the hospital insisting that he be taken to the school because he didn’t want to disappoint his fans. He suffered minor bruises, including a bloody nose but still performed in front of a full house.
Elijah is still taking acting classes and is constantly learning new techniques to perfect his craft. He recently auditioned for another Cartoon Network commercial as well as a movie and is eagerly awaiting the casting directors final decision. I love to entertain people and I love to make people laugh and feel good. I just love what I do and I plan on doing this for a long time Elijah Vegas
