As Bostonians and their neighbors battle with new blankets of snow this week, the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism is encouraging New Englanders to escape the deep freeze for warm weather delights.
A targeted two-week television advertising campaign being unveiled this week will reach thousands of households in the Boston area.
“With the frigid weather in the Northeast, we are ready to welcome winter-weary travelers with a dose of Virgin Islands sunshine, warmth and genuine hospitality,” ~Beverly Nicholson-Doty, United States Virgin Islands’ Commissioner of Tourism.
This new round of advertising supports the sales team’s efforts at last weekend’s Boston Globe Travel Show where travel agents and consumers made numerous inquiries about the Territory’s unique offerings.
Last month, the U.S. Virgin Islands benefited from a rebroadcast of a VI-focused special airing on “Chronicle” news magazine on WCVB-TV, the local ABC affiliate for the greater Boston area.
JetBlue Airways offers nonstop flights from Boston’s Logan International Airport to St. Thomas, while other airlines provide seamless connections to the Territory.
