After 20 years of making Miami the mecca for Compas music in May, the Haitian Compas Festival is proud to announce the first ever Haitian Compas Festival in Fort-de-France, Martinique. On Saturday, November 17, 2018, in collaboration with Radio Television Caraibes, the Haitian Compas Festival will host some of Haiti’s most prominent artists and a handful of living legends at Stade Louis Achille to celebrate Tabou Combo’s 50th Anniversary.
“We really wanted to do something spectacular to honor Tabou Combo’s contribution to Haiti’s musical history and after some consideration we thought Martinique would be the perfect backdrop for the first ever international Haitian Compas Festival,” explains Co-Founder, Rodney Noel.
Scheduled to grace the stage is of course Tabou Combo, along with Nu Look, VayB, Gabel, Harmonik, Djakout #1, Kwakxi and Original H from Paris. Special honored guests also include Keke Belizaire and Fabrice Rouzier from the renowned group Mizik Mizik, BelO, and the legend himself Robert Martino.
Known for producing some of the largest events in the Haitian Music Industry, the Haitian Compas Festival is also bringing two extravagant parties to Martinique’s night life. With a Welcome Gala with the group VayB and a replica of Miami’s most popular All Black Affair with Nu Look, this island adventure starts on Thursday, November 15, 2018.
As a premiere French-Caribbean destination, Martinique boasts some of the most beautiful beaches, waterfalls, museums and botanical gardens all etched around a rich history. As a community, Martinique and its people have always been captivated by the sounds of Compas music and for decades have embraced Haitian artists to the fullest. The Haitian Compas Festival is excited to bring that same flair, excitement and sound to the island for the first time on such a grand scale.
The fact remains that there is no other Haitian festival in the world that has celebrated two decades of music and is making its international appearance other than the Haitian Compas Festival.
Tickets are already on sale on Eventbrite and hotel packages start at $650 which includes hotel accommodations, ground transportation from the airport to hotel and all party and festival tickets.

RCS SIDEBAR: I visited Martinique in 2016 it is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. The beaches are amazing and the food is fresh and flavorful. I heard a lot of composite music while I was there and while I don’t speak French fluently I definitely enjoyed the music while I was there too. If you’re lucky you can get an inexpensive flight on Norwegian air like I did so check it out!
