Rihanna was nominated for a EIGHT Grammy Awards on Sunday night. In fact, she was one of the most nominated artists for the evening, however she went home empty-handed. In fact, Rihanna made GRAMMYs history in the worst way possible.
Riri’s upset places her in history books as the female artist with the most nominations and no win for a single Grammy event. A record previously held by India Arie for her seven time nominated ‘Acoustic Soul’ which earned no golden gramophones in 2002. The most famous incident Mariah Carey‘s ‘Daydream’ era earned 6 nominations but went home without a single one.
By the way, on the same night as Rihanna’s history-making disappointment, Kanye West made history in the exact same manner! Kanye West‘s ‘Life of Pablo’ was also nominated for eight awards. Winning not one award, Kanye now holds the record for most nominated male with no wins in a single night.

Despite, the Bajan beauty winning not a one Grammy, Riri had quite the time and had the twittersphere LIT! What between her dancing during the Tribe Called Quest set and drinking from a diamond encrusted flask all night, Rihanna appeared to care less about winning or losing! She was nice and was probably on that Bajan rum and Jamaican herbs! Rihanna even face-timed during the show!! I can’t make this ish up!
