Rihanna attended the private State funeral in Barbados for the late Prime Minister David Thompson today. There were many umors which said that Rihanna was too busy to attend this ceremony. She was seen dabbing her eyes with tissue during the solemn service. Rihanna had a close relationship with the late primite minister and considered him to be a father figure. Thompson had been very supportive of her career.

Rihanna served as a cultural ambassador to Barbados, which was a position offered by the late Mr. Thompson. He was supportive of Rihanna’s career over the from the beginning in 2004. After her physical abuse at the hands of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Mr. Thompson was one of the first people she confided in, after returning briefly to the island.
