I was filled will much excitement and anticipation to attend Son Jung Wan’s Fall/Winter 2018 show. This was my first time seeing this designer and from what I’ve researched and heard, her show is always one that is well received. Well she did not disappoint me at all!
At first sight, I was wowed and my mouth opened in amazement as each piece came down the runway. The combinations of tweeds, jacquard, checks, stripes, sequins and fur were all striking in these luxurious fabrications. There was not one look that I didn’t want to wear immediately! If you love edgy, rich, bold and chic pieces like me, then this is definitely for you!
The intricacy of each detail was done very methodically. Because of this every aspect of the garment drew your eye to it. From the embellishments on the pant legs, to the mixed and matched fabrics and pattern jackets. The colors flowed from vibrant to pastels to bold then back to neutrals. The line was very cohesive and you could pair pieces back to one another. The shimmery silver clothes put you in the mood to party! This showcase also featured a few menswear designs which focused on strong outerwear pieces.
This has been one of my favorite shows this season for New York Fashion Week and I look forward to being invited back next season and the season after that and so on. Some other celebs that also appreciate the designer’s collection and were in attendance were actress, Kelly Rutherford and reality star, Gizelle Bryant of Real Housewives of Potomac. Here are a few pictures from the show for you to peruse.
