Last night, I crashed attended a preview party for two new scripted series: Tyler Perry’s “The Haves & Have Nots” and “Love Thy Neighbor.” OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network hosted the exclusive party at Peter Thomas’ trendy tapas lounge, Bar One in Atlanta. (Sadly, neither Peter Thomas nor Cynthia Bailey were on hand.) The seen and be seen crowd of Atlanta and along with fans, friends and family packed the chic venue to get a sneak peek of the much-anticipated shows and hobnob with the cast.
Tika Sumpter, John Schneider, Crystal Fox and Renee Lawless were on hand to represent “The Haves & Have Nots,” while Patrice Lovely, Palmer Williams and Kendra C. Johnson greeted fans on behalf of “Love Thy Neighbor.” After clips from the two shows were screened, the cast answered questions from the crowd. “We are so excited to be a part of this journey with OWN and Tyler Perry,” said Patrice Lovely. “This experience – from filming to meeting Oprah — has been amazing!” added Crystal Fox.
