The starting music was very mysterious and engaging. Dan Liu’s Collection was named after the James Bond movie, “The Spy Who Loved Me”. Each ensemble was comprised of mysterious chic looks. The beginning of the show immediately caught the audience’s attention through his usage of eye catching soft pink pastels. This seems to be the color that will be trending for the spring season and spilling over into fall, as few designers have be showing this color on the runways.
After viewing the first few looks, it immediately reminded me of the movie “Pink Panther”. It felt as if each look was a different adventure he was taking us on. The sophistication and chicness of the looks kept us engaged and wanting more. We couldn’t wait for the next model to walk down the runway to see the next look.
The level of classiness reminded me of a modern-day Audrey Hepburn as a majority of his looks were accessorized with bold sunglasses and scarves in efforts to give off a mysterious look. It’s reassuring and exciting to know bold sunglasses are here to stay for good! His collections are ideal for the confident woman who loves to rock stylish yet versatile desk to dinner looks! Here and there you had pops of dressy casual weekend looks for the busy young professional. His gold jacket was the leader of the pack in terms of standout pieces. Ladies stay tuned, because lace in the work place is all the rage for Fall/Winter 18! The intricate lace included in his dresses was standout statement designs. Any confident woman in the workplace who holds a leadership position needs to have all of his upscale lace pieces in their closet.
All in all, his message was extremely clear and eye catching from start to finish. I would recommend this collection to anyone who is serious about elevating their desk to dinner looks or simply just want to look more fabulous in the work place.
