The 4th Annual BronzeLens Film Festival closed out with a bang!  The closing night movie selection “Best Man Holiday” was a smashing success!   Atlanta tastemakers, media and socialites not only packed the theater to capacity, but spilled over into TWO additional overflow theaters.  If this is any indication of the anticipation surrounding this movie, I think director Malcolm D. Lee has another hit movie on his hands.

This sequel is just as good as if not better than the original.  The actors have matured and the director is more seasoned.  This growth is aptly reflected in the character development and we see it played out in some of the more emotionally charged scenes.  Without giving away the movie, there are scenes where Taye Diggs and Morris Chestnut cry.  The vulnerability of a black male is not often portrayed in Hollywood and director Malcolm D. Lee has done a superb job.  That being said, the movie is a comedy and amidst all the tears there’s also a boatload of laughs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the thoughtful approach to the vulnerability of the black male.  I will be going to see it again this weekend!  Kudos to the cast and director!
