On Sunday, September 6 Atlanta was treated to the 10th installment of the Grace Atlanta Caribbean Jerk Festival. The event, a staple in the Atlanta Caribbean community, is arguably one of the largest Caribbean events each year as top jerk chefs compete for bragging rights as Atlanta’s Top Jerk Chef.
This year’s Top Jerk Chef bragging rights go to Chef LeRoy from St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. Biggup Chef LeRoy and the whole V.I. Massive (I believe this is the first time a Virgin Islander has taken the title!)
Each year the Atlanta Jerkfest offers attendees a safe, family environment, with a kids game zone, sports activities, along with first-class Caribbean entertainment with top-tier local and international performers and, of course, great food!
This year was no different. Attendees enjoyed performances by Chubb Rock, Alison HInds (who had a fan who tested HER wining skills!), Errol Moore, Professor Nuts, Maxi Priest, Luciano in additional to a set that featured local artists.
If this year is any indication, Glen Simmonds, the event organizer can rest assured that this staple event will continue to be well attended for another 10 years! Kudos to Glen Simmonds Events and Grace Foods — job well done!
