The 2014 Caribbean American Movers and Shakers event took place on May 22, 2014. The event, an annual recognition of Caribbean Americans in metro Atlanta, was attended by Atlanta’s tastemakers, media hotshots and, of course, Caribbean movers and shakers. The night’s festivities was co-hosted by none other than television and film producer Roger Bobb and Dr. Heavenly Kimes of Bravo TV’s hit reality show “Married to Medicine”. Dr. Kimes graciously agreed to help out when castmate Lisa Nicole Cloud couldn’t make it as originally planned. Teamwork makes the dream work and it wouldn’t have worked as well without Dr. Heavenly.
The event took place at upscale Jamaican restaurant Stir It Up and it was definitely a night to remember. From the shaky voiced honoree acceptance speeches to teary-eyed presenters, to the overjoyed and thankful organizers (including myself!) everyone in attendance felt the palpable Caribbean pride and all agreed it was a great event.
Thank you to all those who came out to support, those who couldn’t make it but were supportive nonetheless and to all the haters, we love you too!!! Also, a big, huge thank you goes out to Stir It Up Restaurant, Grace Foods and all the folks behind the scenes (including Alice and Sherry) who gave their time, energy and efforts. Job well done! Please enjoy the pics.
