Song Jung Wan’s Spring 2019 Collection was what I expected, luxurious, sophisticated and glamorous. Her inspiration was “Dramatic Move”, taking from the dramatic volume of the clothing from the 70 & 80’s. She also to show romantic silhouettes in the textures and colors of the garments. The line was formulated of black and white along with florals. Sequins which have dominated the runways this season also was shown throughout her designs.
She definitely gave us soft and hard along with edgy and chic. Her menswear pieces also showed the more vulnerable side of a man. The lace and floral appliqué details were impeccable on each gown. There is so much thought and creativity that went into her designs and it definitely showed with each and every piece. The styles were cohesive and told a story. Her ability to manipulate these fabrics that consisted of 3D lace and holographic fabrics was just amazing.
I have enjoyed yet again another fabulous collection from Son Jung Wan. She never ceases to amaze me with her talent. I am already anxious to see what she cooks up in the fashion lab for her Fall 2019 collection!
