“Men in Their Habitat” is a masculine collection that merges the detail and fit of proper British tailoring with the feel and attitude of the Great American outdoors. It is a combination of elegance for the diverse lifestyle for today’s Modern Man.
– Nick Graham
Joe Boxer creator, Nick Graham showcased his men’s line at New York Fashion Week Men’s FW16 . The collection was entitled “Men in Their Habitat”. The line was inspired from the U.S. National Parks with its beautiful landscapes, wilderness and colors of the forest.
Each look the models wore was named after a national park which tied into the theme. The scene was set among pine trees and chopped down trees as platforms. It was a tribute to that outdoors man with a preppy sense of style. Graham took on a “campy” way to present the collection with the exaggerated feather and flowers adorned on the men in their well-made suits. The silhouettes were oozing with classic period pieces consisting of derby hats, plaid vest, quilted jackets and fitted three-piece suits.
I enjoyed the execution of the presentation. We entered into a room of darkness and silence. The lights came up and we were given head phones that took us on a journey through forest and the “Men in Their Natural Habitat”. This was outside of the box which is always expected of Graham and I am glad to see he took fashion risk.
