Reigning Soca Monarch, Machel Montano, and producer Kernel Roberts have both escaped jail time. The Trinidadian soca king was recently found guilty on assault charges and had to wait until the end of the Carnival season to find out his sentencing fate.

Luckily, the judge, Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor, decided against jail time or community service and Montano will only have to pay fines and compensation to the victims who were embroiled in the fight outside the Zen nightclub on August 26, 2007.
Machel definitely has an Advantage and will go on to fete another day!!
