SEVANA DELIVERS A MESSAGE OF RESILIENCE ON ‘KEEP GOING (CHOSEN)’
Sevana pens a deeply personal song that explores perseverance and finding purpose during trying times on “Keep Going (Chosen)” – out now via GoodHZMusic / OneRPM. The stirring ballad is produced by Kelsey Gonzalez, the bassist of Free Nationals.
“Keep Going (Chosen) is a song I wrote and listen to even now, to remember my power and purpose. We’ve all gone through trauma, challenges and life’s darkest periods at some point. This song is for when you’re not sure you should move forward,” Sevana explains.
MORE ON SEVANA
Born Anna-Share Blake in Savannah-La-Mar, the picturesque coastal town of Jamaica’s Westmoreland parish, Sevana seemed like a fitting title for the artist (inspired by the hometown that helped shape her). In 2016, she released her soulful self-titled EP and followed in 2020 with her critically acclaimed Be Somebody EP (via Indiggnation Collective, Six Course and RCA Records), spawning her hit single “Mango.” In 2022, Sevana cemented her own label GoodHzMusic. Since then, she has released a series of singles including: “Brand New” released by Colors x Studios, one of her most streamed tracks to date “Lowe Mi”, and the delicious afrobeats bop “One More Time” featuring UK-based Ghanaian producer Juls. Her music effortlessly blends powerful vocals and bold Jamaican patois, drawing influence from traditional R&B/soul and the tropical percussive rhythms of the Caribbean that shaped her. She has performed on NPR Tiny Desk and Colors X Studios and earned notoriety from Vogue, Billboard, Nylon and The Fader (to name a few). The soulful singer has toured the globe and landed major festival performances abroad at Boomtown (UK), Reggae Geel (Germany), Rototom Sunsplash (Spain) and Sole DXB Festival (Dubai) and BRIC’s Celebrate Brooklyn! (US).
