During a recent concert in Detroit, Lauryn Hill announced that she is preggers with her sixth child! Not only am I impressed that she’s having six children in this economy but I’m impressed that she was on tour during the first trimester!
Hill recently completed a North American tour and received nuff flack (“nuff” = “a lot” – for my non-Caribbean folks!) for her tardy arrival at many of the venues. Some fans reportedly waited up to three hours!! To address these issues, Ms. Hill wrote an open letter to fans basically explaining that she’s preggers and the tour was planned prior to this knowledge:
Coming back home after several months of extensive reconnecting with supporters and music lovers, she wrote. We thank you for your continued appreciation. The majority of these dates were planned in advance of me knowing about the continued growth of my family (wink, wink).
She also apologized to fans for showing up late to several dates on her North American tour. There were some shows that we started late. We apologize and thank you for your patience. That said, I cant wait to re-engage with you, and give you a musical experience worth coming back for. Lets do it real soon.
Who’s the Baby Daddy?
So that explains the lateness, etc but what’s the explanation for why long time man, and father of her other children, Rohan Marley, intimated that he’s not the baby fodda (fadda=daddy) for child number six. According to the Daily Mail UK, Rohan Marley, in a since deleted Twitter discussion with a reporter from the Houston Chronicle said the following:
‘2 things… I’m not married and I don’t have anyone expecting anything.’
The journalist asked Marley ‘So we are clear. 1.) You’re not married to your ex-wife or Lauryn, and 2.) She isn’t preggo w/your child, but someone else’s?’
Marley responded: ‘That is correct until I say out of my mouth to the contrary.’
Marley may regret the Twitter statements because he deleted them and subsequently posted:
