Kittitian singer Masud Sadiki, born Kevin Donovan, was found hanging from a tree in the Old Road area, dead from an apparent suicide. He was 37.
It was rumored that Masud suffered from an extended bout of depression.
The young star was recently confirmed as one of the Soca acts for the 16th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival to be held next month. He was named The St. Kitts-Nevis Observer’s Person of the Year for 2011.
He was described as one of the region’s most versatile and talented entertainers. In April 2010, Masud was one of a handful of regional artists selected to represent the United Nation’s “Unite to end violence against women” campaign, touring places like Palestine, United Kingdom and South America.
Sadiki is survived by his wife, children and other family members
