Friday, March 13th 2015 will be the final wrap for award winning TV host Saudicka Diaram, who recently tendered her resignation to CVM Group in Kingston.
During her tenure at CVM TV, Diaram served as co-anchor of the station’s popular morning programme – ‘CVM @ Sunrise.’ She created, produced and hosted her signature project D’Wrap – a top rated weekly newsletter that reviewed local and international entertainment stories. She also produced E-Watch, a weekly investigative entertainment feature that delved into entertainment business and issues. The segment aired on Friday nights during the news watch hour.
Diaram also anchored CVM’s coverage of major local festival like Reggae Sumfest and the Jamaica Jazz & Blues, where she interviewed some of the most formative names in showbiz including Celine Dion, Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley, Regina Belle, Mary J. Blige, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Nicki Minaj, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer and Beenie Man. She also covered international festivals in New York, Florida and Philadelphia.
Her esteemed work was acknowledged for two consecutive years (2010 and 2011) by the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) who named her ‘Best Entertainment Journalist.’ She garnered special recognition for her insightful coverage of the Buju Banton Trial in 2010.
The popular TV host, producer and communication consultant departs CVM TV to pursue other opportunities in broadcast journalism.
“Life is about progression, and I think there is a next level in my career that is waiting on me” she said.
“I am on a quest to self-actualized hence my decision to part ways with a company that will be apart of my journey in more ways than one. CVM has been my home and my platform for growth and I am grateful for my tenure there.”
Diaram holds a Bachelors degree from the University of the West Indies in Media and Communication and is currently reading for a Masters degree in Cultural Studies.
